A great responsibility rests on the shoulders of educators who are willing to use technology in the classroom and implement the type of change required to engage the Net Generation. That responsibility is centered on creating an environment that is equitable to all learners. Using and implementing technology within our current pedagogy is not enough, we as educators must use these new tools to create equitable learning situations where all students have the same opportunities to find their passions and flourish.
Computers in the Classroom
Access to the Internet
Since students are growing up in a technological age, it only makes sense to try and utilize technology in the classroom. Computers, SmartBoards, presentation software, and handheld devices are all great tools to keep help students engaged.
Information is just a couple of clicks away. Students can use the computers that are set up in the room to research topics and expand their knowledge. Having computers in the classroom also provides a great opportunity for teachers to address the proper use of technology and talk to students about placing personal information on the Internet.
